Aseptic Technique Skills Lab Peeps!

The following, as written in the Sentara College of Health Sciences College Catalog, are the program goals and program student learning outcomes (PSLO's) for the AAS in Cardiac Electrophysiology:

Program Goals

  • All graduates will develop and maintain a professional attitude as a cardiovascular technologist, striving for excellence in skills and knowledge, sharing knowledge and skills with others, caring for self, caring for and supporting patients, and protecting patients’ rights, privacy and dignity, and continue life-long learning habits and professional growth.
  • Graduates will challenge the certification exam offered through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), and Adult Echocardiography and Non-Invasive Vascular Studies will also challenge the physics exam (SPI) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).

Program Student Learning Outcomes

By the end of the program, the student will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate professionalism and collaboration within the healthcare setting.
  2. Synthesize the results of an electrophysiology procedure using approved protocols and measurements.
  3. Integrate foundational theories and knowledge of electrophysiology procedures.
